Note About Cooking Matters Transition: Salesforce will be accessible until September 30, 2024. During this period, users can enter information and retrieve reports and historical data. However, Share Our Strength no longer requires organizations to enter information in Salesforce, use survey tools developed by Share Our Strength, or report programmatic outcomes. If your organization prefers to use these resources, information on collecting participant surveys is below and attached.

The following guide outlines the process for administering surveys for Cooking Matters programming, how to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the implementation process, and other resources available to support your organization's data collection.

We evaluate our program because we want to see if it works, who we reach, and how to maintain effectiveness. Cooking Matters has a strong evaluation approach and we collect output data on the number of programs delivered and participants and graduates reached. We also measure outcomes, or the influence of our programming, through participant surveys.

We can see how participants are affected by Cooking Matters courses by comparing surveys they complete on the first and last day of the program. These surveys compare participant knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior before and after the program and measures key program objectives. We also measure participants' intention to change behaviors after attending a Cooking Matters at the Store tour.

Surveys can be collected from participants via a phone, tablet, computer or paper copy but all data is ultimately submitted and processed electronically. It is important to have multiple collection options available to accommodate the various needs of partners and participants. The Survey Administration Guide attached below outlines how to successfully administer surveys using each method.

After the surveys have been electronically submitted, you can view survey records within the Program Detail page of the program record in Salesforce. You can click on a survey record to see participant responses.

Take time to review the attached Survey Administration Guide to learn more about on how to administer and electronically submit surveys and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
