Who can attend CMCCP classes/courses?

  • CMCCP was created for child care providers who look after children under the age of 6 from families experiencing low-incomes.
  • Children are cared for in a variety of ways and our curriculum aims to be inclusive of all types of providers, including licensed and unlicensed providers. Types of child care providers include:
  • Family child care providers:
    • Licensed providers caring for children in their homes.
    • Family, friends and neighbor (FFN) care providers: unlicensed providers caring for children in their homes.
  • Center-based child care providers: providers operating or working within early child care centers, preschools and Head Start centers.
  • CMCCP is designed to introduce providers to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and reinforce understanding of the program requirements, but lessons may be tailored based on providers’ interest and experience with the program. Providers do not have to be CACFP participants.

Can parents and families attend CMCCP trainings?

  • While some of the content in the child care professionals training is similar to classes for families and parents, CMCCP is a professional development training and not well suited for parents and families. In addition to our family-based curricula, we have a variety of additional resources (Cooking Matters on YouTubeCM Recipe Bank) for parents and families.
